Brian Tervo is an award-winning saxophonist, keyboardist, composer, and educator based in Rochester, New York. Renowned for his versatility and dynamic performance style, Brian has established himself as a highly sought-after freelance artist on both local and international stages.
He holds a Master’s degree in Music from the prestigious Frost School of Music at the University of Miami (2006). Throughout his development, Brian studied under the mentorship of saxophone luminaries including Dave Schiavone, Greg Banaszak, Gary Keller, and Troy Roberts.
Brian’s global performance experience includes several years serving as a Music Director for Celebrity Cruises. Since returning to the Western New York area, he has been asked to share the stage with an impressive roster of legendary artists and premier ensembles, including Aretha Franklin, Roy Hargrove, Don Menza, Bobby Militello, Vanessa Williams, The New World Symphony, and the Western New York Jazz Orchestra.
A celebrated figure in the regional jazz scene, Brian has been nominated for "Jazz Tenor Saxophone of the Year" for three consecutive years in the Jazz Buffalo Reader's and Fan Poll. Whether performing, composing, or educating, he brings a unique blend of technical mastery and deep musicality to every project.
