Brian Tervo is a saxophonist, keyboardist, composer, and educator residing in Rochester, NY. He studied with saxophone greats Dave Schiavone, Greg Banaszak, Gary Keller, and Troy Roberts. In 2006, he graduated with a Master’s in Music from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.
Tervo has performed as a freelance artist all over the world, most recently active in the Western New York area. He served as music director on board Celebrity Cruises for several years before returning to Rochester and has had the opportunity to perform with artists and groups such as Aretha Franklin, Roy Hargrove, Don Menza, Bobby Militello, Vanessa Williams, The New World Symphony, and The Western New York Jazz Orchestra.
Beginning in 2016, Tervo has been nominated three years in a row for Jazz Tenor Saxophone of the Year by Jazz Buffalo Reader's and Fan Poll.
